Total Communication Program

Tevie Miller Early Education Program provides educational programming for children from 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years of age.  Children qualify for Mild/Moderate or Severe (Program Unit) funding and have diagnosed Speech and Language delays, disorders and/or disabilities.  The learning environment is characterized by a collaborative class model including a Teacher, Education Assistant, Speech and Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, as required.  Each child has an Individual Program Plan which emphasize speech, language and social skill goals.

The Early Education learning environment is made up of two programs which embed language learning and communication throughout the day.  The ECS Program is a half day, play based preschool program for children in their first or second year of programming.  Class sizes range from 10 - 11 children.  The Kindergarten Program is a full day program which follows the Kindergarten Program of Studies with an emphasis on early literacy and numeracy.  Class sizes range from 14 - 16 children.
